ACADEMIC MAJOR: History

BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETICS INFORMATION: As a senior in 2013, Matt played his fourth season of football at Baldwin Wallace University. He earned his second varsity letter and made a contribution to the Yellow Jacket defense.

GENERAL FOOTBALL INFORMATION: Matt has had a solid football career thus far. BW has recorded a 22-8 record during his first three seasons in the Brown & Gold.  He has appeared in 12 games in his career and has recorded 20 tackles.

As a freshman in 2010, Matt played in his first season of football.  He also earned a letter of participation.
As a sophomore in 2011, Matt competed in his second season of football.  He saw playing time in two games and recorded one tackle. For his efforts Matt earned his second certificate of participation.
As a junior in 2012, Matt played his third season of football and earned his first varsity letter. He saw playing time in all 10 games for the Yellow Jackets. In those games, Matt recorded 20 total tackles with 11 being unassisted.
As a senior in 2013, Matt played in all 10 games for BW and recorded a career-high 46 tackles total tackles, with 19 being unasssisted. Torgler also recorded 1.5 sacks and snared one interception on the season.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION: Matt Torgler grew up in Orville, Ohio and graduated from Dalton High School. Matt played four years of football and earned three varsity letters. He also earned four varsity letters in both track and wrestling.

In football as a junior, Matt was first-team All-Wayne County Athletic League, first-team All-Northeast Inland District and second team All-Ohio for Division VI. As a senior, Matt was again first-team All-WLAC, first-team All-Northeast Inland District and was third-team All-Ohio for Division VI.
