ACADEMIC MAJOR: Exercise Science

BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETICS INFORMATION: As a junior in 2013-2014, Austin Cordova played his third season of football at Baldwin Wallace University and earned his second varsity letter. He was a starter in the secondary.

GENERAL FOOTBALL INFORMATION: Entering his senior season in 2014-2015, Austin will play his fourth season of football at BW. During his first three seasons, he has helped BW to a 21-9 record and a .700 winning percentage.

Individually, Austin has played in 14 varsity games and has recorded 34 total tackles, including for for losses of 16 yards and one quarterback sacks. He also has one interception, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and three additional pass breakups.

As a freshman in 2011-2012, Austin played his first season of football and saw playing time on the junior varsity squad as a defensive back. He earned a certificate of participation. BW finished 8-2 overall and was ranked 24th in the final AFCA (American Football Coaches Association) Division III national poll.

As a sophomore in 2012-2013, Austin played his second season of football and earned his first varsity letter.  Austin saw action in seven varsity games in the secondary, recorded 20 total tackles and one QB sack for a loss of 10 yards.  He also had one interception, recovered a fumble and two breakups. His interception saved a 32-28 victory at OAC and Cleveland cross-town rival John Carroll University. BW finished 7-3 overall.

As a junior in 2013-2014, Austin played his third season of football and earned his second varsity letter. He saw action in the secondary and started a number of games at safety. He played in seven games, recorded 15 tackles, including three for lost yardage, forced a fumble and had a pass breakup. BW finished 6-4 overall.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION: Austin grew up in Perry, Ohio and attended Perry High School.  He competed in four years of football and earned two varsity letters.  He played three years of baseball and ran one season of track. He earned one varsity letter in each sport.
