ACADEMIC MAJOR: Criminal Justice

BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETICS INFORMATION: Jon Hofer played four seasons of football at Baldwin Wallace University (2010-2013) and earned three varsity letters.

ATHLETICS HONORS:  As a senior in 2013-2014, Jon received the Roy Seitz Yellow Jacket Award at the team's season-ending banquet.

GENERAL FOOTBALL INFORMATION: Jon Hofer played four years of football and earned three varsity letters. He began his career as a tight end and linebacker, played LB as a sophomore and moved to the defensive line as a junior and senior. Jon helped the team compile a 28-12 career mark with a .700 winning percentage.  Individually, Jon had 32 career tackles, 0.5 quarterback sacks, 5.5 tackles for lost yardage and recovered a fumble.

As a freshman in 2010-2011, Jon played in his first season of football.  He saw most of his playing time at tight end or linebacker for the junior varsity team and earned a certificate of participation for his efforts. The BW varsity finished 7-3 overall.

As a sophomore in 2011-2012, Jon played his second season of football and earned his first varsity letter.  He saw action in seven games at linebacker and had two total tackles, including one solo stop. BW finished 8-2 overall and was ranked No.24 in the final AFCA (American Football Coaches Association) Division III poll.

As a junior in 2012-2013, Jon played his third season of football and earned his second letter. He moved from LB to defensive tackle and was a key member of the defensive line rotation.  Jon saw playing time in all 10 games and had a career-high 21 total tackles. He also recorded 0.5 quarterback sacks, four tackles for lost yardage and recovered one fumble.  BW finished 7-3 overall.

As a senior in 2013-2014, Jon played in his fourth season of football and earned his third letter. He played in all ten games at defensive tackle and had nine tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss. Jon was named as the co-recipient of the Roy Seitz Yellow Jacket award at the team's annual postseason banquet. BW finished 6-4 overall.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:   Jon Hofer grew up in Akron, Ohio and graduated from Akron Springfield High School. He played four years of football and earned three letters. He wrestled and earned two varsity letters and ran track for two seasons.

In football, Jon was a second-team All-Portage Trail Conference selection as a junior. As a senior, he was a voted a team captain by his teammates.
