BW ATHLETICS INFORMATION: Joe Kasper played three seasons of football at Baldwin Wallace University and earned two varsity letters. As a junior in 2013-2014, he earned second-team CAPITAL ONE Academic All-America honors.
As a senior in 2014-2015, Joe opted not to play football so that he could begin an internship with the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL).
ACADEMIC HONORS: Joe carried a 3.949 grade average, was a Dean's List student, a member of the Alpha Lambda, Dayton C. Miller and Chi Sigma Alpha academic honoraries and a Jacket Scholar. As a junior in 2013-2014, Joe earned second-team CAPITAL ONE Academic All-America honors and was both a first-team CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District 7 and Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection.
ATHLETICS HONORS: As a junior in 2013-2014, Joe was named as the Most Outstanding Defensive Back.
GENERAL FOOTBALL INFORMATION: As a freshman in 2011-2012, Joe played his first season of football on the junior varsity team and received a certificate of participation. The BW varsity finished 8-2 overall and was ranked 24th in Division III in the final AFCA (American Football Coaches Association) poll.
As a sophomore in 2012-2013, Joe played in his second season of football and earned his first varsity letter. Joe played both safety on defense and contributed on special teams. He appeared in nine games and made seven tackles. BW finished 7-3 overall.
As a junior in 2013-2014, Joe played his third season of football and earned his second letter. The starting safety had a career-high 66 tackles, including a career-high 12 tackles in a 28-12 victory against Capital University on October 26. He also has 1.5 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and one recovered fumble that he returned 48 yards for a touchdown and five pass breakups. For his efforts both in the classroom and on the football field, Joe was selected as a first-team CAPITAL ONE Academic All-American, a first-team CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District 7 pick and named as an Academic All-OAC student-athlete. At the team's season-ending banquet, Joe was named as the team's Most Outstanding Defensive Back. BW finished 6-4 overall.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION: Joe Kasper grew up in Mentor, Ohio and graduated from Mentor High School. Joe competed in four years of football and earned three varsity letters. He also competed in four years of baseball and earned three varsity letters.
In football as a senior, Joe was named as a Lake County Touchdown Club scholarship winner. He also was a Lake County News-Herald All-Star, selected to play in the Lake County Senior Bowl, served as a team captain and was a two-time Mentor High School Nick Popelas Award winner. In addition, Joe was named as the Mentor H.S. recipient of a National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame Scholarship.
