BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETICS INFORMATION:   David Flegal played four years of football (2010-2013) at Baldwin Wallace University and earned three varsity letters. As a senior in 2013-2014, he was second in the Ohio Athletic Conference in tackles with 114, was a first-team CAPITAL ONE Academic All-American and a second-team All-OAC selection.

He was a starting outside linebacker as a senior. He also was an Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection in both 2012 and 2013 and earned first-team CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District 7 honors as a senior. 

OTHER ACADEMIC HONORS:  David is a member of the Dean's List and carries a 3.85 grade point average. He is a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta, Chi Sigma Alpha and Dayton C. Miller honor societies and was chosen as a B-W Jacket Scholar.

HONORED ON CAMPUS:  In 2012-2013, David was honored at the Student-Athlete Recognition Banquet with the Campus Community Service Award and at the 2014 Honors Day with the A. Fred Crossman Leadership Prize. He also received an Outstanding Senior Award (as a graduate student) at Honors Day in 2015.

OTHER ATHLETICS HONORS:  David was named as the Ohio Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors for his efforts against Bluffton University on September 14, 2013. He earned OAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his efforts versus Marietta College on November 2, 2013.

GENERAL FOOTBALL INFORMATION:  David Flegal played four years of football and earned two varsity letters. He helped the Yellow Jackets compile a 28-12 record with a .700 winning percentage. Individually, David played in 24 games at outside linebacker and had 140 career tackles, including a team-leading 114 as a senior.

As a freshman in 2010-2011, David played in his first season of football for B-W and saw playing time at linebacker on the junior varsity squad. He received a certificate of participation as BW finished 7-3 overall.

As a sophomore in 2011-2012, David  competed in his second season of football and earned his second certificate of participation. He saw playing time in four varsity games and recorded one solo tackle with three assists.  BW finished 8-2 overall and was ranked No.24 in the final AFCA (American Football Coaches Association) Coaches' Division III poll.

As a junior in 2012-2013, David played his third season of football and earned his first varsity letter. He saw action at linebacker and had a solid season. David recorded 22 tackles, including 15 unassisted stops, three tackles for lost yardage and broke up one pass. For his efforts both in the classroom and on the field, he earned Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors.  BW finished 7-3 overall.

As a senior in 2013-2014, David played his second season of football and earned his second letter. He had a team-leading 114 tackles, including eight games with double-figure stops. His 114 tackles are the most since Luke Chronister '08 had 118 in 2007. He was named as the OAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his 12-tackle effort in a 52-21 win at Bluffton University on September 14, 2013. He was chosen as the OAC Defensive Player of the Week for his 18-tackle effort in a 31-7 win at Marietta College on November 2, 2013. For his efforts both in the classroom and on the football field, David was selected as a first-team CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District 7 and Academic All-OAC student-athlete. He also was a second-team All-OAC selection. BW finished 6-4 overall.

OTHER CLUBS OR ORGANIZATIONS AT BW:  David is a member of the Honors Program, the Accounting Association, the Investment Club and the Outdoors Club.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:   David grew up in Akron, Ohio and graduated from Richfield Revere High School. He played four years of football and earned three varsity letters. He also played baseball for four years and earned four letters.

In football as a senior, David was the Revere's team captain, earned second-team All-Suburban League and second-team All-District honors. As a junior, David was a honorable mention All-District selection, and as a sophomore, he was a first-team All-Suburban League selection.

Academically, David was a Honor Roll student and a member of the National Honor Society.
