As a red-shirt freshman in 2013, Nathan played in his first season of football after sitting out the 2012 season due to injury. He saw playing time at the junior varsity level at the cornerback position and for his efforts received a certificate of participation. BW finished 6-4 overall.

In football, Nathan was named All-Southwestern Conference as both a junior in 2010 and senior in 2011. He also earned All-District honors as a junior in 2010. Nathan was a SWC honorable mention selection in baseball as a junior in 2011. As a senior, Nathan had a personal-best of 167 receiving yards in a game. As a senior in 2011, he had six interceptions and 10 pass breakups.
