BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETICS INFORMATION: As a junior in 2013-2014, Dan O'Brien played his third season of football, started at linebacker, earned his second varsity letter, was named to both the Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference and All-OAC teams, was an OAC Defensive Player of the Week and tabbed as BW's Most Outstanding Linebacker award winner.

ACADEMIC HONORS:  Dan carries a 3.776 grade point average, is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and member of the Alpha Lambda and Chi Sigma Alpha honor societies. As a junior in 2013-2014, Dan was an Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection.

ATHLETICS HONORS:   As a junior in 2013-2014, Dan earned honorable mention All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors.  He also earned OAC Defensive Player of the Week honors on September 28, 2013 for his efforts in a 23-13 win versus Muskingum University. At the team's season-ending banquet, Dan was named as the team's Most Outstanding Linebacker.

GENERAL FOOTBALL INFORMATION: As a freshman in 2011-2012, Dan played in his first season of football.  He saw playing time in two varsity games at the safety position but saw most of his playing time on the junior varsity squad. For his efforts, he earned his first certiciate of participation. BW finished 8-2 overall and was ranked 24th in the final AFCA (American Football Coaches Association) Division III national poll.

As a sophomore in 2012-2013, Dan played his second season of football and earned his first varsity letter. He appeared in all 10 games at safety and outside linebacker and had 12 total tackles. BW finished 7-3 overall.

As a junior in 2013-2014, Dan played his third season of football, started at outside oinebacker and earned his second letter.  He was second on the team with 68 total tackles, including seven for loss and three quarterback sacks. He also led the team with three interceptions, including one he ran back for a touchdown, forced one fumble, recovered another and broke up a pass. For his efforts in the classroom and on the football field, Dan earned Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors. He also was honorable mention All-OAC and was the OAC Defensive Player of the Week on September 28, 2013 in a 23-13 win versus Muskingum University. At the team's season-ending banquet, Dan was named as the winner of the Most Outstanding Linebacker award. BW finished 6-4 overall.

As a senior in 2014-2015, Dan will play his fourth season of football and hopes to earn his third varsity letter. He will return as one of the top linebackets in the OAC.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:  Dan O'Brien grew up in Warren, Ohio and graduated from Warren Howland High School. He played four years of football and earned three varsity letters. He played three years of basketball and earned one letter. He also participated in one season of track and one season of baseball, but did not earn a letter.

In football as a senior, Dan was named All-American Conference Red Division and All-Trumbell County. He also earned Academic All-Ohio honors, was a Northeastern Ohio Scholar-Athlete, won the Eddie Craig Scholastic Award and was a WYTV Student-Athlete of the Week.

Academically, Dan carried a 3.85 grade point average and was in the Warren Howland Honors Program. He was a four-year academic letterman and a member of National Honor Society and the Tri-Alpha Honor Society.
