BEREA, Ohio -- Baldwin Wallace University senior 2012 CAPITAL ONE Academic All-American Kenny Janosko (Mentor) has been named to the 2013 CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District VII first-team selection in cross country/track and field and now qualifies for a chance to become BW's 20th two-time CAPITAL ONE Academic All-American. The 2013 CAPITAL ONE Academic All-America Track & Field Team will be announced on Tuesday, June 25 at 12:00 noon EST.

Janosko, who graduated with a 3.71 grade average in accounting, is one of the top distance runners in NCAA Division III cross country and track and field.

This spring, he was the individual champion at the All-Ohio Championship meet in the 10,000-meter run in 31:16.19 and posted a team, season and personal-best time of 4:06.13 in the 1,500-meter run at the Marv Frye Invitational and a career-best of 14:51.69 in the 5,000-meter run at the Charlotte 49er Classic.  During the winter, Janosko also won the All-Ohio title in the 5,000 meter run. He set a BW school-record in the 5,000 meters at 15:05.55 in 2012. In cross country, Janosko highlighted his season by placing third at the All-Ohio Meet.

The multiple All-Ohio, All-Ohio Athletic Conference and two-time Academic All-OAC and CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District VII pick both indoors and outdoors, also was the 2011 OAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Year and twice earned OAC Male Runner of the Week honors (once in cross country and once in track).

Baldwin Wallace has a long tradition of academic and athletic excellence that has culminated in 85 of its student-athletes being named as CAPITAL ONE Academic All-Americans -- more than any other Ohio Athletic Conference school and among the leaders in Division III.

This year (2012-2013), BW has already congratulated three more as seniors All-American baseball student-athlete Brendan Toughey (East Amherst, N.Y./ St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute), senior six-time All-American diver Julie Pinter (Broadview Heights/ Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) and senior three-time NGCA women's golfer Brooke Hamilton (Cleveland/ St. Joseph's Academy) have already earned CAPITAL ONE Academic All-America honors for the second straight year. Toughey also was the fourth Yellow Jacket ever to be named as the Academic All-American of the Year in a particular sport.
