BW Men Finish Second at All-Ohio Meet

DELAWARE, OHIO –  The Baldwin Wallace University men's outdoor track and field team finished second and the women were third today (Saturday, April 13, 2013) at the annual Division III All-Ohio Championship Meet hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University at OWU's George Gauthier Track inside Selby Stadium. This was the fifth overall and third scoring meet of the spring for the Yellow Jackets.
 
The Yellow Jacket men scored 75 points to place second of 20 teams. The BW women scored 65 points to place third of 20 teams.
 
For the men, senior three-time NCAA Division III All-American thrower Mitch Supan (Medina/ Walsh Jesuit) placed first in shot put with a toss of 54-feet and 5.5-inches, finished first in the discus with a toss of 173'11" and placed second in the hammer throw with a personal-best throw of 193'11".

In addition for the men, senior CAPITAL ONE  Academic All-American and distance standout Ken Janosko (Mentor) won the men's 10,000-meter run in 31:16.19 and freshman Ben Biedelman (Washington D.C./ St. Anselm's Academy) ran a personal-best in winning the 200-meter dash in 21.99 seconds. Junior sprinter Kevin Johnson (Maple Heights/ Cleveland St. Ignatius) placed first in the men's 100-meter dash with a personal-best of 10.75.

The BW track teams are back in action next Friday and Saturday, April 19-20 when they host the annual Paul "Sparky" Adams Meet at The George Finnie Stadium in Berea. On Friday, the hammer will be contested at 2:30 p.m. All other events will be contested on Saturday. Field events begin on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
