DES MOINES, IOWA – Senior three-time NCAA Division III All-American thrower Mitch Supan (Medina/Walsh Jesuit) placed sixth in the hammer throw at the annual Drake Relays at Drake Stadium. Supan is one of two Yellow Jackets representing Baldwin Wallace University at the nationally prestigious meet.
Supan threw the hammer 198 feet and one inch and finished ahead of 19 Division I competitors.
His mark is just 14 inches shy of assistant track and field coach Kevin Phipps' '11 school record.
On the second day of competition (Thursday, April 25), senior and CAPITAL ONE Academic All-American distance ace Kenny Janosko (Mentor) placed 33rd in the 10,000-meter run in a time of 31:53.92.
The Yellow Jacket track team is back in action when select individuals travel to the University of Toledo Invitational Meet on Thursday, May 2 and then to the Gator Invitational hosted by Allegheny (Pa.) College on Friday, May 9.
