Kevin Johnson Earns First OAC Track Weekly Honor

BEREA, OHIO --  Baldwin Wallace University junior sprinter Kevin Johnson (Maple Heights/St. Ignatius) has been selected as the Ohio Athletic Conference Track Athlete-of-the-Week for his efforts in helping the Yellow Jackets to the team title at the 2013 Greater Cleveland College Championship Meet on Friday, February 15. 

Johnson, who garnered his first weekly honor in track also has one in football, set or tied two school records last Friday.  He has now set or tied three school records this winter.

Johnson, a 2012 NCAA Division III All-American and one of the top kickoff return specialists in Division III, captured the 55-meter dash in a time of 6.41 seconds. He broke a  28-year old school record when he ran a time of 6.31 seconds in the preliminaries. In the 200-meter dash, Johnson tied the school record as he finished first in a time of 22.71 seconds. In addition, he anchored the winning 4x400-meter relay team in a time of 3:31.52.  

Earlier this season, Johnson set the school record in the 60-meter dash at the All-Ohio Championships as he clocked a time of 6.89 seconds.
