Men's Track Competes at Sparky Adams Invitational

BEREA, OHIO – The Baldwin Wallace University men's track and field teams competed today at the unscored Sparky Adams Invitational at The George Finnie Stadium.  The meet consisted of two NCAA Division I, five NCAA Division II, 11 NCAA Division III schools and one junior college.

The BW men field athletes were led by senior three-time NCAA Division III All-American thrower Mitch Supan (Medina/Walsh Jesuit) who placed first in shot put with a toss of 52 feet and 6.75 inches, first in the discus with a toss of 165' and second in the hammer throw with a personal-best throw of 194'11".  Senior Jake Buckey (Geneva) took second in the javelin with a career-best throw of 181'3".  Freshman Wesley Wilson (Uniontown /Lake) finished tied for third in the long jump with a jump of 20'10.75"

Ben Biedelman (Washington D.C./St. Anselm's Academy) led the Yellow Jacket men in the running events as he won both the 100-meter and the 200-meter dashes in times of 10.99 and 22.36.

Select Yellow Jacket individuals will be back in action when they travel to Des Moines, Iowa to compete at the Drake Relays on April 25-27.   BW will send select individuals to the Toledo Invitational on Thursday, May 2 and will close out the season at the Gator Invitational hosted by Allegheny (Pa.) College on Friday, May 9.
