ALLIANCE, OHIO – The Baldwin Wallace University men's indoor track and field team placed fourth at the 2013 Ohio Athletic Conference North Split Squad Meet tonight at the University of Mount Union in Peterson Fieldhouse in the McPherson Academic & Athletic Complex. This was the second indoor meet of the winter for the Yellow Jackets.

The Yellow Jacket men were fourth of five teams and scored 85 points.

The Yellow Jacket men were led by senior NCAA Division III All-American and Ohio Athletic Conference Field Athlete-of-the-Week thrower Mitch Supan (Medina/ Walsh Jesuit), junior Kevin Johnson (Maple Heights/ St. Ignatius) and senior 2011 Ohio Athletic Conference Co-Cross Country Runner of the Year Kenny Janosko (Mentor).

The first place finishers for BW included Supan in the shot put with a throw of 16.65 meters, Johnson in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.89 seconds, and Janosko in the 5,000-meter run with a mark of 15:25.51.  The men's 4 x 400-meter relay team, comprised of junior Josiah Holt (Elyria/ Grafton Midview), sophomore Ryan Weir (Lodi / Cloverleaf), and freshmen Ben Biedelman and Jarod Conrad (West Lafayette), also won for the Yellow Jackets, crossing the finish line in a time of 3:31.43.

Supan also placed second in the weight throw with a distance of 17.84 meters.

Placing third in their respective field events were senior Div. III national qualifier Zach Marinucci (Brunswick) in the shot put with a throw of 15.93 meters and senior Jake Buckey (Geneva) in the weight throw with a distance of 15.62 meters.

The Yellow Jacket track and field teams are back in action on Saturday, February 2 at The College of Wooster Fighting Scot Invitational Meet in the new Scot Center at 12:00 noon.  The next home meet is on Friday, February 8 when the BW hosts the Mid-February Meet on the Harrison Dillard Track at 5:00 p.m.
