Today's Game -- The Baldwin Wallace University football team travels to Alliance for an Ohio Athletic Conferenc game againt No. 1-nationally ranked and 2012 NCAA Division III Champion University of Mount Union. The Yellow Jackets defeated Marietta by a final score of 31-7 last Saturday.  The Purple Raiders won their 23rd sttraight game with a 44-34 victory against No 9-nationally ranked Heidelberg University.

Series Notes --  This is the 52 meeting on the gridiron between the two schools.  Mount Union holds a 29-21-1 series lead, including winning the last 18 games. The series began 1896 with the Yellow Jackets defeating the Purple Raiders, 10-0, in Alliance.  The last Yellow Jackets win came in 1994 when it beat Mount Union, 23-10, in Alliance.

Last Meeting -- In the last meeting on November 3, 2012, BW fell to the Purple Raiders, 38-7. Mount Union outgained the Yellow Jackets, 519-159, in total offense

Scouting The Yellow Jackets
In week eight of the season, BW scored 31 points on 255 yards rushing, 58 yards passing and 313 total yards. The Yellow Jackets allowed 7 points on 165 yards rushing, 195 yards passing and 360v total yards. 

Yellow Jacket Statistical Leaders
Offensively, junior quarterback Michael Slack (Casselberry, Fla./Pine Castle Christian) has completed 45-of-70 passes for 637 yards with five TDs and seven interceptions.  Junior running back Nolan Sordyl (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township) leads the rushing attack with 532 yards on 101 carries with five scores. Senior WR/RB Josiah Holt (Elyria/Grafton Midview) is second on the team in rushing and receiving with 431 yards rushing with five TDs and has caught 14 passes for 142 yards.  Senior WR Kevin Johnson (Maple Heights/St. Ignatius) tops the receiving corp with 20 catches for 295 yards and three TDs.

Defensively, senior LB David Flegal (Akron/Revere) leads the team with 89 tackles and two fumble recoviers. Junior LB Dan O'Brien (Warren/Howland) is second on the team with 56. Junior DL Luke Riemenschneider (Rocky River) is third with 51 but leads the team with five and a half sacks and five QB hurries. Junior DB Joe Kasper (Mentor) is fourth with 50 tackles and has five pass break ups.  Senior LB Matt Torgler (Orrville/Dalton) is fifth with 39.  The Yellow Jackets have seven interceptions, seven fumble recoveries and 17 sacks.

Scouting The Purple Raiders
In week eight of the season, Mount Union scored 44 points on 344 yards rushing, 310 yards passing and 654 total yards. The Purple Raiders allowed 34 points on 98 yards rushing, 327 yards passing and 425 total yards. 

Purple Raider Statistical Leaders
Offensively, junior QB Kevin Burke has completed 115-of-178 passes for 1,976 yards with 26 TDs and four interceptions.  Burke also leads the rushing attack with 669 yards on 93 attempts with five TDs. Freshman RB Bradley Mitchell is second leading rusher with 497 yards on 67 carries and four TDs.  Senior WR Jack Nicholls tops all receivers with 41 grabs for 627 yards and eight TDs.

Defensivley, DL Tom Lalley leads the team with 39 tackles, including 8.5 for loss and a team-high six QB sacks. Sophomore DB Alex Kocheff is second with 38 stopes and junior DB Joshua Scott is third with 36.
