2013 Division III All-American Release

BEREA, Ohio -- Baldwin Wallace University senior punter Matt Harmon (Canfield) has been named to the 2013 AFCA (American Football Coaches Association) NCAA Division III All-America team.

Harmon had his finest season as a collegian and was a first-team All-OAC and first-team All-North Region selection by the D3football.com web site. The four-year starter led the OAC and was eighth in Division III with a 41.6-yard punting average in 45 attempts. More importantly, Harmon had a 39.5-yard net average and dropped 22-of-his-45 punts inside the opposition's 20-yard line. He also earned OAC Special Teams Player of the Week versus Muskingum University this season and was the OAC Special Teams Player of the Week three times during his career.

Harmon is the first Yellow Jacket named to the AFCA All-America team since defensive back Greg Koch '04 did it in 2003.

"Matt is extremely deserving of this honor," said 12th-year Head Coach John Snell. "He had an outstanding senior season and really capped a solid four-year career. Matt is a hard-working young man who utilized his talent and got the best out of his ability. We are proud of him."

The Yellow Jackets finished 6-4 overall in 2013 and had their 44th winning season (plus one .500 season) in the past 48 years. BW has one of the winningest football programs in NCAA Division III and in all of college football.
