Today's Game -- The Baldwin Wallace University football team hosts Capital University for an Ohio Athletic Conferenc game on Professor Appreciation Day. The Yellow Jackets scored 54 unaswered points to defeat Wilmington, 54-7,, last Saturday in Wilmington.  The Crusaders fell to No. 1 nationally ranked and defending NCAA Division III Champion University of Mount Union by a score of 58-3 in Bexley.

Series Notes --  This is the 44th meeting on the gridiron between the two schools.  BW holds a 33-11 series lead. The series began in 1928 when Capital defeated BW, 19-0, in Bexley.  The last Capital win came in 2011 when it beat BW, 14-11, in Berea. 

Last Meeting -- In the last meeeting on October 20, 2012,  the Yellow Jackets defeated the Crusaders, 39-16.   BW outgained Ohio Northern 373-245, in total offense

Scouting The Yellow Jackets
In week six of the season, BW scored 54 points on 287 yards rushing, 98 yards passing and 385 total yards. The Yellow Jackets allowed 7 points on 39 yards rushing, 181 yards passing and 220 total yards. 

Yellow Jacket Statistical Leaders
Offensively, junior quarterback Michael Slack (Casselberry, Fla./Pine Castle Christian) has completed 43-of-65 passes for 607 yards with four TDs and five interceptions.  Junior running back Nolan Sordyl (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township) leads the rushing attack with 325 yards on 72 carries with four scores. Senior WR/RB Josiah Holt (Elyria/Grafton Midview) is seocn on the team in rushing and receiving with 305 yards rushing with a team-best five TDS and has caught 12 passes for 116 yards.  Senior WR Kevin Johnson (Maple Heights/St. Ignatius) tops the receiving corp with 17 catches for 267 yards and two TDS.

Defensively, senior LB David Flegal (Akron/Revere) leads the team with 63 tackles and two fumble recoviers. Junior LB Dan O'Brien (Warren/Howland) is second on the team with 38 and is tied for team-lead with one interception. Junior DL Luke Riemenschneider (Rocky River) is third with 37 but leads the team with five and a half sacks and five QB hurries. Senior LB Matt Torgler (Orrville/Dalton) is fourth with 32 and senior DB Zack Barley (Hudson) is fifth with 29. The Yellow Jackets have three interceptions, five fumble recoveries and 15 sacks.

Scouting The Crusaders
In week six of the season, Capital scored three points on 149 yards rushing,  minus five yards passing and 144 total yards. The Crusaders allowed 58 points on 367 yards rushing, 184 yards passing and 551 total yards. 

Crusader Statistical Leaders
Offensively, freshman QB Chase Longwell has completed 22-of-44 passes for 314 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions. Longwell also leads the team with 349 rushing yards in 108 attempts with two TD's. Senior RB Alex Coleman is the second leading rusher with 276 yards on 31 attempts with two TD's.  Senior WR Jacob Batcho leads the receiving corp with four catches for 73 yards and one TD.

Defensivley,  senior DB Dominic Hebebrand tops the squad with 45 tackles.  Junior LB Wesley Meadows is second with 37.  Junior LB T.J. Langermeierr is third with 31 stops but tops the team with 3.5 tackles for loss. Junior DL Gene Rucker is third with 27 tackles. The Crusaders have five interceptions and four sacks.
