Today's Game -- The Baldwin Wallace University football team hosts Heidelberg University in the final regular Ohio Athletic Conference games of the 2013 season on Seniors' and Parents' Day. The Yellow Jackets fell  to No. 1 nationally ranked and defending NCAA Division III Champion University of Mount Union last Saturday by a score of 30-7 in Alliance.  The Student Princes dropped their second straight game to John Carroll by a final of 48-7.

Series Notes --  This is the 67th meeting on the gridiron between the two schools.  BW holds a 46-20 series lead. The series began in 1897 with the Yellow Jackets defeating the Student Princes, 10-0, in Berea. The last Yellow Jackets win came in 2011 when it beat Heidelberg, 35-20, in Berea.

Last Meeting -- In the last meeeting on November 10, 2012,  the Yellow Jackets fell to the Student Princes by a score of 35-34 in Tiffin.   BW outgained Ohio Northern 502-451, in total offense

Scouting The Yellow Jackets
In week nine of the season, BW scored seven points on 129 yards rushing, 101 yards passing and 230 total yards. The Yellow Jackets allowed 30 points on 238 yards rushing, 197 yards passing and 435 total yards. 

Yellow Jacket Statistical Leaders
Offensively, junior quarterback Michael Slack (Casselberry, Fla./Pine Castle Christian) has completed 45-of-60 passes for 637 yards with four TDs and seven interceptions.  Junior running back Nolan Sordyl (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township) leads the rushing attack with 532 yards on 101 carries with five scores. Senior WR/RB Josiah Holt (Elyria/Grafton Midview) is second on the team in rushing and receiving with 480 yards rushing with five TDS and has caught 16 passes for 159 yards and one score.  Senior WR Kevin Johnson (Maple Heights/St. Ignatius) tops the receiving corp with 20 catches for 295 yards and three TDS.

Defensively, senior LB David Flegal (Akron/Revere) leads the team with 98 tackles and two fumble recoveries. Junior LB Dan O'Brien (Warren/Howland) is second on the team with 61 and leads the team with three interceptions. Junior DB Joe Kasper (Mentor) is third with 59 stops and junior DL Luke Riemenschneider (Rocky River) is fourth with 57 but leads the team with five and a half sacks and five QB hurries. Senior LB Matt Torgler (Orrville/Dalton) rounds out the top five with 42 tackles. The Yellow Jackets have eight interceptions, eight fumble recoveries and 18 sacks.

Scouting The Student Princes
In week nine of the season, Heidelberg scored seven points on 124 yards rushing,  129 yards passing and 253 total yards. The Student Princes allowed 48 points on 88 yards rushing, 387 yards passing and 475 total yards. 

Student Prince Statistical Leaders
Offensively, junior QB Michael Mees has completed 101-of-183 passes for 1,963 yards with 24 TDs and four interceptions.  Senior All-OAC RB Cartel Brooks  leads the rushing attack with 1,264 yards on 169 attempts with 20 TDs. He also has eight catches for 192 yards and two more TDs.    Junior WR Donteea Dye leads the teamwith 29 catches for 700 yards and eight TDs.

Defensivley,  sophomore LB Will Lances leads the squad with 67 stops and two fumble recoveries. Senior DB Micthell Kelly is second with 62 tackles and is tied for team lead with two interceptions. Senior LB Adam Cepnik is third with 44 stops and junior DL Ben Poirier is fourth with 43 tackled but is tied for the team lead in sacks with six.
