Today's Game -- The Baldwin Wallace University football team hosts Ohio Northern University for an Homecoming and Ohio Athletic Conferenc game October 12, 2013 at 2 p.m. The Yellow Jackets suffered their second loss of the season to Otterbein, 19-7, last Saturday in Westerville.  The Polar Bears fell to No. 1 nationally ranked and defending NCAA Division III Champion University of Mount Union by a score of 58-7 in Ada. .

Series Notes --  This 39th meeting on the gridiron between the two schools.  BW holds a a 26-11-1 series lead. The series began in 1923 with the Polar Bears beating the Yellow Jackets, 20-13, in Berea.  The last Ohio Northern win came in 2010 when it beat BW, 41-21, in Ada.

Last Meeting -- The last time BW and Otterbein met on October 6, 2012,  the Yellow Jackets defeated Polar Bears, 22-20.   BW outgained Ohio Northern 276-260, in total offense

Scouting The Yellow Jackets
In week four of the season, BW scored seven points on 138 yards rushing, 163 yards passing and 301 total yards. The Yellow Jackets allowed 19 points on 265 yards rushing, 126 yards passing and 3911 total yards. 

Yellow Jacket Statistical Leaders
Offensively, junior quarterback Michael Slack (Casselberry, Fla./Pine Castle Christian) has completed 33-of-49 passes for 283 yards with two TDs and three interceptions.  Slack also leads the team in rushing with 226 yards on 42 carries with three TDs.  Junior running back Nolan Sordyl (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township) is the second leading rusher with 208 yards on 49 carries with two scores. Senior WR Kevin Johnson (Maple Heights/St. Ignatius) tops the squad with 11 catches for 112 yards.

Defensively, senior LB David Flegal (Akron/Revere) leads the team with 44 tackles. Junior LB Dan O'Brien (Warren/Howland) is second on the team with 26 and is tied for team-lead with one interception and one fumble recovery. Junior DL Luke Riemenschneider (Rocky River) is third with 25 but leads the team with two sacks and four QB hurries. Senior LB Matt Torgler (Orrville/Dalton) is fourth with 21 and junior DB Nelson Candelario (Cape Coral, Fla/Island Coast) is fifth on the team with 20.  The Yellow Jackets have two interceptions, two fumble recoveries and six sacks.

Scouting The Polar Bears
In week four of the season, Ohio Northern scored seven points on 54 yards rushing,  106 yards passing and 160 total yards. The Polar Bears allowed 58 points on 322 yards rushing, 309 yards passing and 631 total yards. 

Polar Bear Statistical Leaders
Offensively, junior QB Patrick Angle has completed 62-of-102 passes for 553 yards with fourTDs and two interceptions. Sophomore WR Devin Price leads the team with 19 catches for 154 yards and a TD and senior WR Kyle Baker has 16 grabs for 130 yards and one score.  Sophomore RB William Bodden leads the rushing attack with 297 yards in 54 attempts with three TDs.

Defensivley,  junior MLB Dillon Kwiat leads the team with 40 tackles and two QB hurries. Freshman OLB Cody Cox has 27 tackles, including a team-best 4.5 for loss. Senior OLB Josh Cantrell is third with 24 tackles. The Polar Bears have six interceptions and five sacks.
