Complete All-Mideast Region Teams (.pdf)

BEREA, OHIO --  Senior 2012 CAPITAL ONE Academic All-American left fielder Brendan Toughey (East Amherst, N.Y./St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute) has been named as 2013 first-team D3baseball.com All-Mideast Region. 

Toughey, who carries a 3.94 grade point average in BW's 3:2 Master's of Accounting Program, was a third-team All-Mideast Region selection in 2012. 

This season, he had his finest season as a collegian by batting a team-leading .410 with a single-season school-record for hits and runs scored with 66 each. Toughey led the team in at-bats, base hits, runs scored, doubles (13), home runs (4), stolen bases (20 in 22 attempts) and both slugging and on-base average. He also was perfect in the field. Toughey was named first-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference and was selected to the NCBWA (National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association) Division III "Team of the Week".

For his career, Toughey played in 130 games and started 120, hit .356 (161-for-452) with a school career-record 153 runs scored, 31 doubles, six triples, five homers, 65 RBI, 54 stolen bases in 56 attempts (.964 efficiency), a .959 fielding average with a .485 slugging average and .459 on-base average.

A year ago, the four-year starter earned first-team CAPITAL ONE Academic All-America honors and was a second-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference and third-team Division III All-Mideast Region selection.  Toughey was also an Academic All-OAC and a first-team CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District VII choice.
