Havens Garners OAC Pitcher of the Week Nod

BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin Wallace University senior right-hander Pat Havens (Twinsburg) was named Ohio Athletic Conference pitcher of the week after going 2-0 and throwing a shutout during the Yellow Jackets' annual spring break trip to the Snowbird Baseball Classic in Port Charlotte, Fla.

Havens, an All-OAC and All-Mideast region pick a year ago, went 2-0, including his second career shutout.  He beat the College of Mount St. Joseph, 10-3, and went the distance in a 5-0 shutout of Denison University, combining to allow just one run (earned) on six hits while fanning 14 batters over 15 innings and posting a 0.60 ERA.

Havens has a perfect 4-0 record in 2013 with a 2.89 ERA and 24 strikeouts in 28 innings pitched.  He is also 17-6 for his career.

The Yellow Jackets will play a three-game series this weekend at Pitt-Bradford (Pa.).  BW opens its OAC and home schedule on Friday, March 29 when it hosts Muskingum University in a doubleheader at 1:00 p.m.
