Yellow Jacket Throwers Compete at Augustana (Ill.) Twilight Qualifier

ROCK ISLAND, ILL. --  Select Baldwin Wallace University individual performers competed on Friday, May 20 at the Augustana (Ill.) College Twilight Qualifier. This was the final "last chance" meet for those performers hoping to qualify for the 2011 NCAA Division III National Championship Meet at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio from May 26-28.

Sophomore Cristina Perrine (Middleburg Heights/ Midpark) became the final women to qualify for the 2011 NCAA Championship Meet by placing sixth in the discuss with a throw of 147'11" and 12th in the hammer with a mark of 138'0".

To date, BW has three women NCAA qualifiers. Senior three-time All-American Kim Chinn (Zanesville/West Muskingum), senior NCAA Division III All-American pentathlete Emily Oliver (Waynesburg/ Sandy Valley), and sophomore Cristina Perrine (Middleburg Heights/ Midpark) have all either automatically or provisionally qualified.

A year ago, Chinn earned All-America honors when BW hosted the 2010 NCAA national meet at The George Finnie Stadium.
