BW Women's Indoor Track and Field Team Wins the Greater Cleveland College Championships

BEREA, OHIO - The Baldwin Wallace University women's indoor track and field teams won the team title tonight (Friday, February 18) at the Greater Cleveland College Championships on the Harrison Dillard Track in the Lou Higgins Center. The BW women finished first with 242 points.

After five weeks of indoor competition, the BW women have won all four scored meets and have a 36-0 record.

Sophomore thrower Stefani Graber (North Royalton/ Padua Franciscan) led the way by provisionally qualifying for the 2011 NCAA Division III national meet in the weight throw with a mark of 53'5". Sophomore Cristina Perrine (Middleburg Heights/ Midpark) placed first in the shot put with a toss of 40'4.25". In the triple jump, junior Kara Kasper (Amherst/ Steele) placed first with a leap of 32'11.75". Freshman jumper Brittany Gerhardstein (Mentor) placed first in the long jump with a leap of 15'9.75". In the high jump, senior Carrie Ritzler (Fostoria/ Hopewell-Loudon) won with a mark of 4'9.75".
Sophomore sprinter Kaylan Lemon (Canton/ Massillon Perry) finished first in the 55-meter dash in a time of 7.53 seconds.
 
The BW track and field teams will be back tomorrow, Saturday, February 19, when they travel to Kent State to participate in the Kent State Invitational hosted by Kent State University and the Ohio Wesleyan Pentathlon. Both meets are scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m.
