BW's Women Compete in the Jim Wuske Invitational in Alliance, OH

ALLIANCE, OHIO -  The Baldwin Wallace University women's indoor track and field team competed against Division I, II and III schools at The University of Mount Union Jim Wuske Invitational today (Saturday, February 5, 2011) in the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex in Alliance, Ohio.  In addition, the BW throwers competed at the University of Findlay Open Meet in Findlay, Ohio.

Senior pentathlete Emily Oliver (Waynesburg/ Sandy Valley) led the way by placing first in the women's 500 meters in 1:20.62. Also, sophomore Shaina Kovatch (Parma/Valley Forge) was second in the 5,000-meter run in 19:36.39 and sophomore Tess Hoogeveen (Westerville/ South) finished fourth in the 1000 meter run in 3:18.71.

The BW track and field teams will be back in action next Friday, February 11 when the Yellow Jackets host the Mid-February Meet  in  Harrison Dillard Track in the Lou Higgins Center in Berea at 5:00 p.m. The Jackets will then travel to Westerville, Ohio where Otterbein University will be host to the Division III All-Ohio Championship Meet at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 12.
