Baldwin Wallace Women's Indoor Track and Field Team Competes at Mid-February in Berea

BEREA, OHIO - The Baldwin Wallace University women's indoor track and field team competed today (Friday, February 11) at the BW Mid-February Meet on the Harrison Dillard Track in the Lou Higgins Center. The BW women had two individual place finishers in a non-scoring meet.

Sophomore distance runner Lauren McGaughey (Allison Park, Pa./ Hampton) led the way by winning the one-mile run and placing fifth in the 800 meter run. She recorded times of 5:32.43 and 2:32.98, respectively. Placing first in the 5,000 meter run was freshman distance runner Lauren Hutka (North Ridgeville/ Midview) as she finished in a time of 19:25.21, and junior distance runner Judy Patterson (Aliquippa, Pa./ Monaca Center) finished third in the same event in a time of 19:48.51. Sophomore distance runner Tess Hoogeveen (Westerville/ South) finished fourth in the one-mile run with a time of 5:41.65.

The BW track and field teams will be back in tomorrow Saturday, February 12 when they travel to Gambier to participate in the All-Ohio Meet hosted by Kenyon College. The meet is scheduled to start at 12:00 p.m. The next BW home indoor track and field meet is Friday, February 18 when BW hosts the Greater Cleveland Championships at 5:00 p.m. In addition, BW is the host school for the 2011 OAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on February 25-26.
