BEREA, OHIO -  Baldwin Wallace University senior Emily Oliver (Waynesburg/ Sandy Valley) won the individual title at the 2011 Ohio Wesleyan University Pentathlon today (Saturday, February 19) in the Branch Rickey Fieldhouse in Delaware.

With her point total of 3,317, Oliver set a career-best and Yellow Jacket school record, qualified provisionally for the 2011 NCAA Division III National Indoor Track & Field Championship Meet from March 11-12 at Capital University in Columbus and currently ranks third in Division III. Oliver bested eight other competitors. She finished first in the 55-meter hurdles in 8.77 seconds to earn 822 points, placed first in the high jump with a jump of five-feet and one and one-quarter inches for 689 points, placed second in the shot put with a throw of 33'3" for 538 points, placed tied for second in the long jump with a leap of 16'3.75" for 551 points and placed second in the 800-meter run in 2:28.09 for 717 points.

The Yellow Jackets track and field teams are back in action this Friday and Saturday, Feb. 25-26 when they host the 2011 Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship Meet on the Harrison Dillard Track inside the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse. Action begins on Friday, Feb. 25 at 12:00 noon and resumes on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 10:00 a.m. Fans can log on to the championship web site at http://www.bw.edu/athletics/11oacitfchampionships/

To date, the BW women's track team has competed in four scored indoor meets and are undefeated winning meet titles at the BW Mid-January Meet, the OAC Relay Meet, the All-Ohio Division III Championship Meet and yesterday's (Feb. 18) Greater Cleveland College Championship Meet and own a perfect 36-0 record.  The BW men have won titles at the Mid-January Meet, the All-Ohio Meet and last night and own a 37-1 record.
