BW Women's Outdoor Track & Field Team Competes at UNC-Charlotte Meet

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Baldwin Wallace University women's outdoor track and field teams competed on the final day (Saturday, March 19, 2011) of the two-day University of North Carolina-Charlotte 49er Classic at the Irwin Belk Track. The meet was not scored. 
 
The BW women were led by freshman Victoria Brown (Berlin Center/Western Reserve) who placed sixth in the high jump with a mark of 5'3", sophomore Cristina Perrine (Middleburg Heights/Midpark) who placed eighth in the hammer throw with a mark of 144'7" and sophomore Stephanie Shockley (Tiffin/Columbian) who tied for ninth place in the pole vault after clearing a height of 10'0".
 
Sophomore Stefani Graber (North Royalton/Parma Padua Franciscan) placed 10th in discus with a mark of 131'10" and also placed 12th in the hammer throw with a toss of 134'4".
 
Junior Leslie Purnell (Springfield/Catholic Central) placed 11th in the discus throw with a toss of 127'8", 11th in the shot put with a mark of 38'3.50" and 13th in the hammer with a mark of 134'1".
 
In addition, senior Carrie Ritzler (Fostoria/Hopewell-Loudon) placed 12th in the javelin throw with a mark of 111'5". 

The Yellow Jacket women are back in action on Saturday, April 2 when they travel to the Ohio Athletic Conference Split Meet (East) at Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio. The competition begins at 1:00 PM.
