BW Senior Kim Chinn Hits NCAA Provisional Mark in 5,000 Meters at Cedarville Open Meet

CEDARVILLE, OHIO -- Select members of the Baldwin Wallace University women's outdoor track & field team competed today (Saturday, March 26) at the Cedarville University Yellow Jacket Collegiate Open Meet.

Highlighting the day for BW was senior All-American Kim Chinn (Zanesville/West Muskingum) who won the 5,000-meter run in a time of 17:33.12 which provisionally qualifies her for the 2011 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio from May 26-28. Chinn's time also set a meet and track record.

Also for BW, sophomore Sarah Rospert (Milan/Edison) was second behind Chinn in the 5K in a time of 18:50.73. Senior Krysten Kovach (North Royalton/Padua Franciscan) finished the 1,500-meter run in a time of 5:19.14, good for 15th place.

The Yellow Jacket women are back in action on Saturday, April 2 when they travel to the Ohio Athletic Conference Split Meet (East) at Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio. The competition begins at 1:00 p.m.
