COLUMBUS, OHIO -- Baldwin Wallace senior Kevin Phipps (Pataskala/Watkins Memorial) participated on day one (Friday, March 11) of the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Senior four-time All-American thrower Phipps participated in the weight throw and finished ninth overall with a best mark of 61"4'. Phipps advanced to the final with a throw of 60"3' in the prelims to finish fifth in his flight. However, his best throw of 61"4' left him one place out of All-American honors for the second year in a row.
Phipps is back action tomorrow (Saturday, March 12) in the finals of the shot put at 3:30 p.m.
