ALLIANCE, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's indoor track and field team competed against Division I, II and III schools at The University of Mount Union Jim Wuske Invitational today (Saturday, February 5, 2011) in the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex in Alliance, Ohio. In addition, the BW throwers competed at the University of Findlay Open Meet in Findlay, Ohio.
The men were led by sophomore Ken Janosko (Mentor) who won the men's 5000 -meter run in a time of 15:32.63. There also were a pair of second place finishers in sophomore Josh Miller (Willard) and junior Dan Sloat (Medina/ Senior). Miller finished second in the high jump clearing a height of 6"0.75' and Sloat placed second in the 500-meter dash in a time of 1:08.09. Freshman Joshua Price (North Olmsted) was third in the long jump at 21 feet, 11 inches.
Highlighting the efforts of the throwers was the recoprd-setting and automatic national qualifying performance of senior 4-time Division III All-American Kevin Phipps (Patsakala/ Watkins Memorial).
