BW Women’s Tennis Team Falls at Oberlin

OBERLIN, OHIO --   The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team fell in its first match of the spring season to host Oberlin College, 9-0, today (Saturday, February 9, 2013) inside the Heisman Field House.

With its loss, BW falls to 0-2 in dual matches and Oberlin is now 2-1 overall.

Despite the loss, the Yellow Jackets came close to securing two points when senior number-five singles player Danielle Rueger (Ashland) lost in a three set marathon to  Erin Johnson by scores of 4-6, 6-1, 10-6.  BW had another chance to secure a point in doubles action when the No.3-team of freshman Mackenzie Donalson (Hilliard/Davidson) and junior Whitney Yoder (Medina) fell to Johnson and Ariana Abayomi by a final score of 9-7.  

The BW women wrap up the winter portion of its 2013 schedule on Saturday, Feb. 23 when they travel to Kalamazoo, Michigan to play perennial NCAA Division III powerhouse Kalamazoo (Mich.) College at 9:00 a.m. The women then travel to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina from March 10-15 and play five matches on their annual Spring Break Trip.
