BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin Wallace University senior women's tennis player Rebecca Mittler (Elyria/Elyria Catholic) has been named as Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player-of-the-Week for her efforts last week. This is the second career weekly honor for Mittler.

Mittler won three singles matches and combined with freshman Kelsey Blatt (Tallmadge) to win two doubles matches as the Yellow Jackets won two of three matches last week. Mittler won singles matches against Ohio Northern University, Ohio Wesleyan University and Heidelberg University and combined with Blatt to win doubles matches versus Ohio Northern and Heidelberg.

Mittler's three singles wins improves her career mark to 54-43 and ties her for eighth place on the all-time scoring list with Katy Marshall (2007-2011). Her two doubles triumphs improves that mark to 57-47 and ranked eighth all-time. Her 111 career combination wins are seventh all-time.

In addition, Mittler, who carries a 3.581 grade point average in middle childhood education, is a three-time All-OAC and two-time Academic All-OAC player. 

Mittler and the Yellow Jackets women's tennis team, 8-9 overall, end their season this week with one non-conference and three OAC homes matches at the "Pop" Collins Courts against The College of Wooster (Monday, April 22 ), cross-town rival John Carroll University (Tuesday, April 23), Otterbein University (Friday, April 26) and Marietta College (Saturday, April 27) for Seniors' and Parents' Day. The match with Wooster begins at 3:30, the matches with John Carroll and Otterbein at 3:30 and the Marietta match at 1:00 p.m.
