Two Senior BW Women's Soccer Student-Athletes Named to Honor Teams

BEREA, Ohio -- Senior Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer student-athletes Margo Laseak (Mentor) and Kayla Losco (Hopewell Township, Pa. /Hopewell) have been named either All-Ohio and/or Academic All-Ohio by the Ohio College Soccer Association (OCSA).  

"We are extremely proud of Margo and Kayla," said 12th-year Head Coach Reid Ayers.  "Each is an outstanding student-athlete.  Each excells in the classroom, on the field and off as a team leader.  Both are extremely deserving of each honor they receive.  They are great representatives of Baldwin Wallace University and our soccer program, and are great role models for our younger student-athletes to emulate."

Laseak, an early childhood education major who carries a 3.68 grade point average, was named first-team All-Ohio, first-team Academic All-Ohio and second-team NSCAA All-East Region. She helped to lead the Yellow Jackets to a school-record-tying 14 wins and a 14-5-1 record this fall and a 39-30-11 mark in her career.

This fall, the four-year letter winner played and started in all 20 matches, took a career-high 31 shots, including 15 on goal, and had a career-high three assists for three points. Laseak also was a key part of a defense that allowed just 1.13 goals-per-game and had six shutouts. Previously, shewas tabbed both All-Ohio Athletic Conference and twice Academic All-OAC.

During her career, Laseak played in 80 matches, took 63 shots, including 30 on-goal, and had four assists. In 80 career matches, BW allowed just 1.09 goals-per-game with 22 shutouts.

Losco, who carries a 3.62 grade average in pre-physical therapy and exercise science, was named third-team All-Ohio and second-team Academic All-Ohio.

This fall, the starting center back was third on the team in scoring with three goals and four assists for 10 points.

During her four seasons, Losco appeared in 70 matches, took 78 shots, including 29 on-goal, scored 10 goals and added 13 assists for 33 points.  She led led the OAC in assists in 2012 with nine. BW compiled a 44-27-9 record. Losco . She ended her career as a two-time All-OAC and Academic All-OAC selection.
