COLUMBUS, Ohio --- The Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team lost to Ohio Athletic Conference rival Capital University, 2-1 in overtime, in an OAC match at Bernlohr Stadium. This was the first game of a women's and men's doubleheader.
With its win, Capital is now 12-4-1 overall and 5-2 in the OAC. With its loss, BW is 13-4 overall and 4-3 in the OAC.
The Yellow Jackets opened the scoring in the seventh minute when sophomore forward Audrie Wolfe (Hilliard/Darby) received a crossing pass from senior defender Sami Riveron (Maineville / Kings) and one-touched the ball into the lower left corner of the goal to make the score 1-0. This was Wolfe's first goal of the season and Riverron's third assist of the campaign.
The Crusaders opened the scoring in the second half and tied the score in the 47th-minute at 1-1 when sophomore forward Jamie Murray scored on an assist from sophomore midfielder Mariah Richards.
In overtime, Murray scored the game-winning goal for Capital when she received a crossing pass and she headed the ball off the post and into the goal to give the Crusaders a 2-1 victory.
In goal for the Yellow Jackets, sophomore Emily Tallmadge (Fairview, Pa.) faced 13 shots, allowed two goals and made six saves as her record falls to 11-4 overall.
The Crusaders outshot BW by a 13-9 count but BW had a 7-5 advantage in corner kicks.
