NEW CONCORD, OHIO-- Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference midfielder Hanna Cavalier  (Chippewa Lake/Cloverleaf) scored the game-winning goal in the 85th minute as the Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team won its eighth straight match as it defeated OAC-rival Muskingum University, 1-0, at McConagha Stadium in New Concord.

BW, ranked fourth in the Great Lakes Region by the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America), is now 11-1 overall and 2-0 in the OAC prior to travelling to Ada this Saturday, October 12 for a game at Ohio Northern University at 1:00 p.m.

After a scoreless first half and 85 minutes of the Yellow Jackets battering the Fighting Muskies with shots, Cavalier finally broke the scoreless drought at 85:48 when she received a pass and assist from freshman defender Kelly Gough (Hudson) and put her shot into the upper right hand corner of the net for the 1-0 lead and game-winner. This was Cavalier's fourth goal this season and eighth of her career. Gough's assist was the third of her career.

In goal for the Yellow Jackets, sophomore Emily Tallmadge (Fairview, Pa.) faced six shots, including four on-goal, allowed zero goals and made four saves. Tallmadge now has a record of 10-1.

The Yellow Jackets dominated the contest and outshot the Muskies, now 7-3-2 overall and 0-2 in the OAC, by a 41-6 count. BW also had an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks.

This Saturday's women's game at Ohio Northern is the first game of men's and women's doubleheader at 1:00 p.m.  The men's game is slated to start at 3:30 p.m.  The next home match is on Saturday, Oct. 19 when BW hosts Wilmington College in a women's and men's doubleheader on Tressel Field at The George Finnie Stadium in Berea.
