BEREA, Ohio  --  Senior defender Kayla Losco (Hopewell Township, Pa./ Hopewell) and senior midfielder Margo Laseak (Mentor) have been named to the 2013 All-Ohio Athletic Conference second-team.

The duo had a great impact on the Yellow Jacket program and helped the team compile a 44-28-8 record the past four seasons, including tying the school record for wins in a season this fall with 14 and a 14-6 overall record. The last two years, Losco and Laseak led BW to a 26-7-4 mark.

Losco made the team for the second straight season. She was a first-team pick a year ago. This season, Losco was third in scoring with three goals and four assists for 10 points. She ended her career by appearing in 70 matches, taking 78 shots, including 29 on-goal, scoring 10 goals and adding 13 assists for 33 points.  She led led the OAC in assists in 2012 with nine. In addition to being an outstanding soccer player, Losco carries a 3.62 grade average in pre-physical therapy and exercise science and was named first-team Academic All-Ohio a year ago.

Laseak made the All-OAC squad for the first time. She started all 20 games and recorded three assists for three points. Laseak and Losco also played a key role on a defense that allowed just 23 goals in 20 matches for a 1.13 goals-against-average. During her career, Laseak played in a school record-tying 80 matches, took 63 shots, including 30 on-goal, and had four assists. In the classroom, she carries a 3.77 grade average in early childhood education.

"We are pleased for both Kayla and Margo," said veteran Head Coach Reid Ayers.  "Both young women had a great impact on our program during the past four years and were instrumental this season in helping our team tie the school record for victories.

"More important than wins and losses, Kayla and Margo are outstanding student-athletes and embody the title on scholar-athlete," continued Ayers. "They were outstanding role models for our young student-athletes and we will certainly miss their commitment, dedication and leadership."
