ERIE, PENNSYLVANIA --  Freshman forward Megan Bartoshuk scored in the 24th minute as the Carnegie Mellon (Pa.) University Tartans led the Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team 1-0, today in the championship game at the season-opening Penn State Behrend University Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament.  But lightning and rain followed at the 37:55 mark and the game was cancelled after a lengthy wait that delayed the start of the final two games of the eight-team men's and women's tournament.

BW reached the championship game by defeating host PS-Behrend, 3-2, on Saturday.  CMU beat Capital University, also by a 3-2 count to reach the title game.  Due to the game not having completed 70 minutes of play, it is not an official game and BW and CMU would be declared co-champions with 1-0 marks.

The Yellow Jackets next play on Wednesday, Sept. 4 when they host the Yeowomen of Oberlin College in their home opener on Tressel Field at The George Finnie Stadium in Berea at 7:00 p.m.  BW then travels to Newport News, Virginia on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 7-8 to compete in the Captains Classic hosted by Christopher Newport University.  The Yellow Jackets play host Christopher Newport on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 3:00 p.m. and then play Virginia Wesleyan University on Sunday, Sept. 8 at 1:00 p.m.
