BW Women’s Soccer Team Falls to Ohio Northern

ADA, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team lost to host Ohio Northern University, 3-0, in an Ohio Athletic Conference match at Kerscher Stadium. 

Ohio Northern (5-6-1, 1-1 OAC) opened the scoring in the 58th minute when senior forward Sami Atkinson scored on a header with the cross coming from junior forward Kristina Klusek. In the 69th minute Klusek scored the second goal of the game for the Polar Bears with the assist from freshman midfielder Alaura Mikesell. Senior midfielder Lauren Brown scored a goal in the 79th minute to give Ohio Northern a 3-0 advantage. 

In goal for the Yellow Jackets (11-2, 2-1 OAC), sophomore Emily Tallmadge (Fairview, Pa.) faced 14 shots, including seven on-goal, allowed three goals and made four saves. Tallmadge now has a record of 9-2.

The Polar Bears outshot BW by a 14-7 count and also had an 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, October 16 when they travel to Tiffin to face Heidelberg University in an OAC gameonMayer Fieldat at 7 p.m.  The next home game is on Saturday, Oct. 19 when the team hosts Wilmington College in the first game of a women's and men's OAC soccer doubleheader on the Tressel Field inside The George Finnie Stadium at 4:30 p.m. The men play at 7:00 p.m.
