BEREA – For the second straight match and third time this season, Baldwin Wallace University senior forward Kari Trivisonno (Mentor) scored the game-winning goal as the Yellow Jacket women's soccer team defeated visiting Case Western Reserve University, 2-1, on the Tressel Field pitch at The George Finnie Stadium.

Trivisonno took a long free kick from from senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC midfielder Kayla Losco (Hopewell Township, Pa./Hopewell) and beat Case's junior goalie Abbey Smith for the game-winner in the 81st minute. The assist was Losco's second in the game, third this season and the 12th of her career. Last Saturday, in a 2-1 win at Grove City (Pa.), Trivisanno scored in the 82nd minute to make BW a winner.

With its win, the Yellow Jackets improved their record to 5-1 overall while the Spartans dropped to 3-3 overall with their loss.

BW opened the scoring in the 44th-minute and led 1-0 when senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and All-Region defender Liz Helser (Ft. Wayne, Ind./Canterbury) took a corner kick from Losco and headed the ball into the goal for her first goal of the season and fourth of her career. Losco, who led the OAC in assists a year ago with nine, recorded her second this season and the 11th of her career.

BW took seven first half shots compared to six for the Spartans.

Case scored the equalizer and tied the game at 1-1 in the 52nd-minute when senior MF Rachel Borque scored with an assist from senior defender Katie Chapin. That set up Trivisonno's heroics again.

In goal for BW, sophomore Emily Tallmadge (Fairview, Pa.) faced 16 shots, including seven on-goal, allowed one goal and made six saves as she improved to 4-1 this season and earned her 16th career win.

The Spartans outshot the Yellow Jackets by a 16-12 count and had a 4-0 advantage in corner kicks.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action this Saturday, Sept. 21 when they travel to Delaware, Ohio to play Ohio Wesleyan University at 5:00 p.m. in the first game of a women's and men's doubleheader.
