Softball Picked Tied for Sixth in OAC Preseason Coaches Poll

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University softball team under the direction of veteran head coach Tom Spencer have been selected to finish tied for sixth in the Ohio Athletic Conference Coaches Preseason Poll.

BW and Marietta College were selected tied for sixth with 38 points.  Defending OAC Champion Ohio Northern University was picked first with 80 points and eight first place votes.  Muskingum University was picked second with 72 points and one first place vote.  The University of Mount Union comes in third place with 64 points and one first place vote.  Otterbein University was picked fourth with 56 points.  Heidelberg University rounds out the top five with 42 points.

Coach Spencer, who is in his 18th season in Berea, returns 12 letterwinners, five Academic All-OAC performers and three All-OAC selections from last year's squad that posted an overall record of 13-23 and a 7-11 mark in the OAC. 

The Yellow Jackets open their season on Friday, March 3 when they travel to La Verne, California to open their spring break trip to California and Hawaii with a non-conference doubleheader against the University La Verne at 6 p.m.  BW also plays the University of Redlands on March 4, NCAA Division II Hawaii Pacific University on March 7 and NCAA Division II Chaminade University on March 10.
