Women's Volleyball Secures Post-Season Berth with Victory Over Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University women's volleyball team secured a position in the Ohio Athletic Conference post-season wtih a 3-0 victory over Wilmington College, inside the Fred Raizk Arena.

The attack for BW (20-5, 3-4 OAC) was balanced, with sophomore All-OAC outside hitter Ivy Earl (Howell, Mich) leading the way with a match-high nine kills. Junior Academic All-OAC Alexis Garrett (Mentor) tallied eight kills, at a .467 hitting percentage. Junior Academic All-OAC middle hitter Kail Nicholas (Milwaukee, Wis./University School of Milwaukee) buried six out eight for a .750 clip. Sophomore All-OAC outside hitter Mary Zurbrugg (Alliance) and junior setter Kathleen Egan (Cleveland/Beaumont) each recorded four, while junior Academic All-OAC middle hitter Allison May (Louisville/St. Thomas Aquinas) and sophomore outside hitter Kiely Walker (Fremont/Old Fort) sank three each. Junior All-OAC middle hitter Taylor Brown (Maple Heights) marked two kills at a .667 clip. Egan distributed 31 assists and had two service aces. Junior Academic All-OAC defensive specialist Sydni Colchagoff (Findlay/Liberty-Benton) aced two serves.

Sophomore defensive specialist Morgan Martin (Seven Hills/Trinity) led the match with 15 digs while junior Academic All-OAC and All-OAC libero Sarah Reinhard (Willoughby/South) amassed 12. Earl scooped up 11. May, Garrett, and Nicholas each recorded two assisted blocks.  

The Yellow Jackets then return to Ursprung on Tuesday October 29, for Seniors' Night against the University of Mount Union and close out the regular season at Marietta College on Saturday November 2 at 1 p.m.
