Women's Volleyball Falls to Otterbein in Home Opener

BEREA, Ohio – In the home opener, the Baldwin Wallace University women's volleyball team suffered a 3-1 defeat to Ohio Athletic Conference opponent, Otterbein University, in Urpsrung Gymnasium, inside the Lou Higgins Center.

BW's (18-3, 1-2 OAC) attack was led by junior Academic All-OAC middle hitter Alexis Garrett (Mentor). The junior sunk 15 attacks while sophomore All-OAC outside hitter Ivy Earl (Howell, Mich) buried 13. Junior setter Kathleen Egan (Cleveland/Beaumont) facilitated the offense with 36 assists, while adding three kills and seven digs to her line.

Junior Academic All-OAC and All-OAC libero Sarah Reinhard (Willoughby/South) tallied 17 digs, which moves her to No. 11 on BW's Career digs list with 1, 334. Sophomore defensive specialist Morgan Martin (Seven Hills/Trinity) dug up 11 and Earl marked eight. Garret defended the net with three assisted blocks.

The Yellow Jackets hit the road on Tuesday October 15 to square off with Heidelberg University at 7 p.m, then return home for the Pediatric Cancer Awareness Match against Muskingum University on Saturday October 19.
