Women's Volleyball Falls to #19 Muskingum

BEREA, Ohio – In the first annual Pediatric Cancer Awareness Match, the Baldwin Wallace University women's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 defeat to No. 19 Muskingum University in Ursprung Gymnasium, at the Lou Higgins Center.

The offense for BW (18-5, 1-4 OAC) was led by junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference middle hitter Kail Nicholas (Milwaukee, Wis./University School of Milwaukee), who buried 8 attacks at a .500 clip. Sophomore outside hitter Cecelia Stebel (Union/Northmont) tallied five kills while junior All-OAC middle hitter Taylor Brown (Maple Heights) and sophomore All-OAC outside hitter Ivy Earl (Howell, Mich.) each sank four. Junior setter Kathleen Egan (Cleveland/Beaumont) distributed 19 assists, aced three serves, and recorded seven digs.

Junior Academic All-OAC and All-OAC libero Sarah Reinhard (Willoughby/South) dug up 22 attacks and Earl scooped 10. Freshman middle hitter Isa Luciano (Willoughby/South), sophomore outside hitter Kiely Walker (Fremont/Old Fort), Earl, and Brown each marked two assisted blocks.

The Yellow Jackets hit the court next on Tuesday October 22 against John Carroll University at 7 p.m. BW then hits the road against Wilmington College on Saturday October 26 at 1 p.m and return home on Tuesday October 29, for a contest against the University of Mount Union.
