Volleyball Completes the Comeback, Egan Earns Career-High

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University volleyball team came back from a 1-0 deficit to defeat Case Western Reserve University, three sets to one, inside the Horsburgh Gymnasium.  Junior setter Kathleen Egan (Cleveland/Beaumont) led the match with a career-high 56 assists.

BW's (13-0) offense was led by sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference outside hitter Ivy Earl (Howell, Mich.), who had a match-high and career-best tying 18 kills, and tallied eight digs. Junior Academic All-OAC middle hitter Alexis Garrett (Mentor) set a new career-high with 17 kills and sophomore outside hitter Cecelia Stebel (Union/Northmont) had 14 kills. Junior All-OAC middle hitter Taylor Brown (Maple Heights) amassed nine kills. Freshman middle hitter Isa Luciano (Willoughby/South) marked three service aces while junior Academic All-OAC libero Sydni Colchagoff (Findlay/Liberty-Benton) had two aces and eight digs.

Junior Academic All-OAC and All-OAC libero Sarah Reinhard (Willoughby/South) led the match with 25 digs, while sophomore defensive specialist Morgan Martin (Seven Hills/Trinity) recorded 18, and Egan dug up 16. Luciano tallied four blocks with one solo.

Up next, BW competes in the Hiram College Invitational with a double-header on September 21. First, the Yellow Jackets take on the host Hiram College at 10 a.m and then square off with Penn (Pa.) St.- Altoona at 12 p.m.
