Women's Volleyball Opens Conference Play with Victory Over Capital

BEXLEY, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's volleyball team opened Ohio Athletic Conference action with a convincing 3-0 victory over Capital University, inside the Capital Center.

The BW (18-1) attack was led by junior Academic All-OAC middle hitter Alexis Garrett (Mentor), as she led the match with 12 kills, at a .600 hitting percentage. Sophomore All-OAC outside hitter Ivy Earl (Howell, Mich.) tallied 10 kills and seven digs while junior Academic All-OAC middle hitter Kail Nicholas (Milwaukee, Wis./University School of Milwaukee) marked six kills at a .667 percentage. Junior setter Kathleen Egan (Cleveland/Beaumont) led the match with 31 assists, and also had 11 digs and three kills.

Junior Academic All-OAC and All-OAC libero Sarah Reinhard (Willoughby/South) dug up a match-high 13 digs, and recorded a career-high six service aces.

The Yellow Jackets hit the court next on Tuesday October 8 when they travel to Ada, Ohio to take on Ohio Northern University at 7 pm. BW will welcome Otterbein University to Ursprung on Saturday October 12 for the home opener.
