AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC libero Sarah Reinhard (Willoughby/South) and junior Academic All-OAC Alexis Garrett (Mentor) have each been named OAC Defensive and Offensive Player of the Week.
Reinhard earns her first Defensive Player of the Week award after eclipsing BW's Top-Ten All-Time Career Digs list with a match-high 26 digs on Tuesday nights, 3-0 victory against John Carroll University. She also recorded 12 digs in the 3-0 victory over Wilmington College on Saturday. For her career, she 1,419 digs, 88 service aces, 197 assists in 284 sets played.
Garrett earns the Offensive Player of the Week after leading the John Carroll match with 16 kills, at a .500 hitting percentage. In the Wilmington match she buried eight attacks at a .467 clip. In her career the Mentor native has 424 kills, 33 service aces, 66 blocks, and 82 digs in 194 sets.
The Yellow Jackets host the University of Mount Union on Tuesday for Seniors' Night and wrap up the 2019 regular season at Marietta on Saturday November 2.
