AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's volleyball team has been selected fourth by the coaches in the 2019 Preseason Poll.

Picked to finish sixth last campaign, BW is tabbed to place fourth with 52 points in this seasons poll, with one first place vote. Ohio Northern University, defending conference champions, was picked to finish first with 79 points and seven first place votes. Otterbein University and Muskingum University were tied at second with 64 points apiece, with both receiving one first place vote. Rounding out the top five is Heidelberg University with 50 points.

The Yellow Jackets finished fourth in the standings for the 2018 season, posting a 27-5 overall record and a 6-3 mark in the OAC. BW fell to Ohio Northern, three sets to one, in the OAC semifinals.

Entering her first season as the Yellow Jackets head coach, Kacie Ehinger is ready for the upcoming season.

"I'm excited to get to work with the 16 returners and three newcomers", Ehinger stated. "The OAC is a very strong conference and our goal is to compete for the title in 2019. We return players in every position who contributed a significant amount last season, as well as all four players that were recognized by the OAC coaches last season."

BW will return one senior, eight juniors, seven sophomores, and four All-OAC selections from last season. Three newcomers will compete for playing time in the rotation.

The Yellow Jackets will open the season with a non-conference matchup against Ursuline College on August 24. BW will compete in the Red Dragon Classic, hosted by Cortland (N.Y.) University, on August 30 and 31. The Yellow Jackets then travel Franklin Indiana to play in the Franklin (Ind.) College Tournament on September 6 and 7. The following weekend, BW will compete in the Ginny Hunt Classic, hosted by the College of Wooster on September 13 and 14. The Yellow Jackets open OAC action on the road against Capital University on October 5.
