ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Junior setter Kathleen Egan (Cleveland/Beaumont) career weekend propelled the Baldwin Wallace University women's volleyball team to three victories at the Blue Jay Classic, hosted by Elizabethtown (Pa.) College. BW defeated host Elizabethtown, 3-1 on Friday night and beat Eastern (Pa.) University 3-0, and Marywood (Pa.) University 3-0 on Saturday. Junior Academic All-OAC middle hitter Alexis Garrett (Mentor) and Egan were named to the All-Tournament team.

BW vs. Elizabethtown

BW upended the host of the Blue Jay Classic in four sets: 26-24, 25-17, 26-28, and 25-23. Garrett led the attack with 15 kills. Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference middle hitter Taylor Brown (Maple Heights) tallied 12 kills while sophomore All-OAC outside hitter Ivy Earl (Howell, Mich.) and sophomore outside hitter Cecelia Stebel (Union/Northmont) each buried 11. Egan distributed a match-high 47 assists and had a career-high seven service aces, while Earl had three.

Junior Academic All-OAC and All-OAC libero Sarah Reinhard (Willoughby/South) dug up 21 attacks while Egan recorded a career-high 16 digs. Sophomore defensive specialist Morgan Martin (Seven Hills/Trinity) amassed 10. Brown defended the net with a career-tying four assisted blocks.

BW vs. Eastern

The Yellow Jackets claimed a victory over Eastern in straight sets: 25-17, 25-16, 25-13. The offense was led by Garrett, as she led the match with 12 kills. Stebel amassed 11 and Earl tallied 10. Brown buried seven out of 11 attacks for a hitting percentage of .636. Egan facilitated the offense with 39 assists, while Earl led the match with four service aces.

Four different Yellow Jackets totaled double-digit digs, led by Egan and Earl with 11. Reinhard and Martin each saved 10.

BW vs. Marywood

BW swept Marywood straight sets: 25-17, 25-17, 25-19. The attack was spread between multiple Yellow Jackets. Stebel led the way with nine kills and Garrett totaled seven. Sophomore All-OAC Mary Zurbrugg (Alliance), Earl, and Brown each had five. Egan led the match with 25 assists while sophomore defensive specialist Isabella Moskowitz (Brighton, Mich.) marked 10 and led the match with four service aces.

Reinhard dug up 18 digs and Martin had 13. Brown protected the nylon with three assisted blocks.

BW will open OAC action with back-to-back road contests, starting with Capital University on Saturday October 5. On Tuesday October, 8 the Yellow Jackets travel to Ada Ohio to take on No. 15 Ohio Northern University at 7 pm.
