Reinhard Reaches Top-Ten Career Digs, Women's Volleyball Defeats John Carroll

BEREA, Ohio - In a milestone night for junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference and All-OAC libero Sarah Reinhard (Willoughby/South), the Baldwin Wallace University women's volleyball team claimed a bounce back, 3-0 victory over John Carroll University in Ursprung Gymnasium, at the Lou Higgins Center.

BW's (19-5, 2-4 OAC) Reinhard amassed a match-high 26 digs, which landed her in the Top-Ten Career Digs list. The attack was led by junior Academic All-OAC Alexis Garrett (Mentor), who led the match with 16 digs at a .500 hitting percentage. Sophomore All-OAC outside hitter Mary Zurbrugg (Alliance) buried 11 kills at a .476 clip. Sophomore All-OAC outside hitter Ivy Earl (Howell, Mich.) marked seven kills and junior All-OAC middle hitter Taylor Brown (Maple Heights) sank four at a .500 percentage. Junior setter Kathleen Egan (Cleveland/Beaumont) facilitated the offense with a match-high 38 assists, and added four kills. 

Sophomore defensive specialist Morgan Martin (Seven Hills/Trinity) and Egan recorded nine digs, while Earl scooped up six. Junior Academic All-OAC middle hitter Kail Nicholas (Milwaukee, Wis./University School of Milwaukee), Brown, and Egan protected the front line with two assisted blocks apiece.

BW hits the court next against Wilmington College on Saturday October 26 at 1 p.m. The Yellow Jackets then return to Ursprung on Tuesday October 29, for Seniors' Night against the University of Mount Union. BW closes out the regular season with an away affair against Marietta College on Saturday November 2 at 1 p.m.
