Egan Marks Career-Bests, Women's Volleyball Falls to Heidelberg

TIFFIN, Ohio – Junior setter Kathleen Egan (Cleveland/Beaumont) set a career-best 59 assists and 19 digs, in the Baldwin Wallace University women's volleyball teams 3-2 defeat to Heidelberg University, inside Sieberling Gymnasium.

BW's (18-4, 1-3 OAC) attack was led by junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference middle hitter Taylor Brown (Maple Heights), as she led the match with 17 kills, at a .481 clip. Junior Academic All-OAC middle hitter Alexis Garrett (Mentor) tallied 16 kills and two service aces, while sophomore All-OAC outside hitter Mary Zurbrugg (Alliance) buried 15. Sophomore All-OAC outside hitter Ivy Earl (Howell, Mich) planted 13 attacks. 

Defensively, junior Academic All-OAC and All-OAC libero Sarah Reinhard (Willoughby/South) led the match with 25 digs. Sophomore defensive specialist Morgan Martin (Seven Hills/Trinity) scooped up 19 while Earl recorded 16. Sophomore defensive specialist Isabella Moskowitz (Brighton, Mich.) achieved a career-high 12 digs. Zurbrugg tied a career-best in blocks with three and junior Academic All-OAC middle hitter Kail Nicholas (Milwaukee, Wis./University School of Milwaukee) halted three attacks at the net.

Up next BW will host Muskingum University on Saturday October 19 for the Pediatric Cancer Awareness Match at 1 p.m. The Yellow Jackets continue their home-stand with a match against John Carroll University on Tuesday October 22 at 7 p.m.
