Women’s Basketball Selected Second in OAC Coaches Preseason Poll

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The No. 20 nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace University women's basketball team has been selected to finish second in the 2023-24 Ohio Athletic Conference Coaches Preseason Poll.

BW, who picked second a season ago, was picked second with 72 points and three first place votes. No. 10 nationally ranked Ohio Northern University, who is the defending OAC regular season and tournament champion, was picked first with 77 points and seven first place votes.  No. 21 nationally ranked Marietta College was third with 69 points while Capital University comes in at four with 69 points. Rounding out the top five is Otterbein University with 47 points.

The Yellow Jackets under the direction veteran head coach Cheri Harrer return 13 letterwinners, three All-OAC players and four Academic All-OAC performers from last year's squad that finished with a record of 22-6 and an OAC slate of 14-4.   BW advanced to its fourth straight NCAA Division III National Tournament. 

The Yellow Jackets open the season on Friday and Saturday, November 10 and 11 when the team travels to Rochester, New York to compete in the Chuck Resler Tournament hosted by the University of Rochester.  BW opens the tournament with a first round game against Gettysburg (Pa.) College on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m.  The consolation and championship games will be contested on Saturday at 3 or 8 p.m.
